Marine ecosystems are complex natural systems composed of living organisms and their physical environments that are essential for life on the planet. Although their good condition is crucial for the balance of the biosphere, they are subject to threats and impacts, largely caused by the strong pressure that humans exert on them.
Nevertheless, they are a true treasure to be preserved: from their depths to the surface, they are home to hundreds of thousands of organisms, from tiny bacteria and microorganisms to large mammals such as majestic whales.
On the Redeia Marine Forest platform, all the projects we develop to improve ecosystems can be included as eligible in the European taxonomy for the protection and recovery of biodiversity. We will focus our efforts on the following target habitats.
