Goals
A challenge ahead

The ocean: a source of life

90%

of Earth's habitable spaces are marine ecosystems.

26%

Of the planet's CO2 is captured by the oceans, which also generate 50% of the oxygen we breathe.

250.000

Known species live in the oceans.

Our goal

To conserve and restore the largest possible area of marine habitats with the highest ecological value by 2030 through innovative, science-based solutions.

We have two main lines of action

Restore

We promote habitat conservation to prevent degradation and develop active restoration projects in collaboration with scientific institutions and public administrations. We also share the knowledge generated and scientifically validated with society, as we believe in the power of collaboration for the benefit of the ocean.

Educate and raise awareness

Achieving the global goal set for this UN Ocean Decade will not be possible without the collaboration of the international community. That’s why we are convinced that awareness and education -especially among younger generations- are two key pillars to reach these goals.
