Our goal

To conserve and restore the largest possible area of marine habitats with the highest ecological value by 2030 through innovative, science-based solutions.

We want to serve as Redeia’s voice in protecting the ocean, bringing together all initiatives and projects from across the group’s subsidiaries aimed at improving marine ecosystems.

Our focus is on Posidonia oceanica seagrass meadows, reef forests, and macroalgae forests.

We seek to build a network of partnerships with public administrations, social stakeholders, scientific institutions, and other environmental actors to generate knowledge and multiply positive action for the ocean.

We aim to identify and promote new methodologies for marine conservation and restoration, as well as to share the gained scientific knowledge with society.

We want to engage citizens by promoting volunteering and encouraging environmental education and awareness actions. To achieve this, we rely on our partner, Ecomar Foundation.

All of this will contribute to strengthening Redeia’s commitment to driving the ecological transition and taking action against climate change.

We have two main lines of action

Restore

We promote habitat conservation to prevent degradation and develop active restoration projects in collaboration with scientific institutions and public administrations. We also share the knowledge generated and scientifically validated with society, as we believe in the power of collaboration for the benefit of the ocean.

Educate and raise awareness

Achieving the global goal set for this UN Ocean Decade will not be possible without the collaboration of the international community. That’s why we are convinced that awareness and education -especially among younger generations- are two key pillars to reach these goals.
