Research and dissemination
Redeia's Marine Forest Platform promotes scientific knowledge in its goal of recovering significant extensions of marine habitats of interest.
Our projects are based on science and nature-based solutions. We are committed to R&D&I and the rigour and reliability it provides to our projects, so they can be replicated by Redeia and its subsidiaries in other ecosystems and made available to other entities wishing to act on other marine habitats of interest.
ELASMOCEM
Investigamos la interacción entre los campos electromagnéticos y las especies bentónicas. Lo hacemos de la mano de Fundación Oceanográfic, Fundación AZTI, el Instituto de Magnetismo Aplicado de la Universidad Computense de Madrid-CSIC, la Sociedad Anónima de Electrónica Submarina (SAES) y nuestras filiales Red Eléctrica y Elewit. Actualmente en desarrollo.
Bosque Marino de Red Eléctrica
El proyecto de investigación desarrollado por Red Eléctrica e IMEDEA-CSIC con el apoyo del Gobierno Balear es el germen del Bosque Marino de Redeia. Junto a IMEDEA-CSIC, hemos desarrollado un método científico para replantar posidonia que ha alcanzado una tasa de éxito superior al 90 por ciento.
We support the research study by the University of Seville to analyse the active and passive mechanisms that have made the invasive Asian seaweed Rugulopteryx okamurae one of the most aggressive and competitive macroalgae threatening the marine flora and fauna of Tarifa and the Bay of Algeciras. In addition, the project analyses the possibilities for managing and using this seaweed, as well as its use as a natural agricultural fertiliser and its valorisation in the circular economy.
We have spent years generating scientific knowledge about the sea, and now, through the Marine Forest, we are placing it at the service of society.
We support new research and innovation projects from scientific and academic institutions to develop new techniques for restoring and conserving marine habitats.
We promote the dissemination of all acquired knowledge to multiply the platform's impact, through documentation and scientific seminars such as the one held in Mallorca in 2024.

Restauración activa
Promovemos y realizamos actuaciones de restauración activa de distintos hábitats marinos. Hemos comenzado con la posidonia y las gorgonias, pero seguiremos ampliando nuestro alcance.
Investigamos y divulgamos
Siempre atentos a la búsqueda de soluciones tecnológicas y científicas innovadoras, que sean sostenibles y que impulsen la colaboración.
Restauración pasiva
A través de la eliminación de barreras o tensiones que impiden la regeneración de los hábitat marinos. Lo haremos con aliados, socios y colaboradores que quieran contribuir a los objetivos de esta plataforma. Facilitaremos la colaboración pública y privada en la restauración del océano para ampliar el alcance potencial a otras especies y enclaves marinos.
